East Village Spa's team has specialists in sports and deep tissue massage, Shiatsu, hot stone massage, prenatal massage and more. Because our therapists have built a loyal clientele and space out their services to ensure their guests receive their full attention, some have limited availability. We suggest finding 2-3 therapists you enjoy to increase your scheduling opportunities.
Our licensed estheticians and nail care providers are experienced, safe, and skilled. They offer customized Rhonda Allison facials, Hydrafacial, waxing, and natural manicures and pedicures. Their focus is on the health of your skin and nails. They are happy to customize a skincare routine that best fits your lifestyle and skincare goals.

Justin (he/him) is our managing massage therapist. Licensed since 2007 (IA 004736), is a great choice for athletes and people recovering from surgeries or facing chronic injuries and pain. He works with moderate to very firm pressure and may incorporate some stretching or massage tools if appropriate. He's also able to provide a great relaxation massage for people who want to zone out. He has practiced Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for years, loves snowboarding, his dog, and driving his co-workers crazy with puns. (Justin does not offer body scrubs, prenatal massage, or foot reflexology)
Klay (he/him) has been licensed since January 2018 (IA 094557) and is a "fixer-upper," looking for the best techniques to assist you with injuries or pain. He's great for athletes and works with more moderate to moderate-firm pressure, including using massage tools as appropriate. Klay came to this field from social work. Massage blends two things he's passionate about: physical activity and helping people. Dogs make him smile, he loves tiny versions of things, and is a pretty good woodworker who has custom built things for many co-workers!
(Klay does not offer prenatal massage or reflexology)
Conny (she/her) is a native German who loves to hear about your European relatives and travel. She has been licensed since early 2017 (IA 086019). She offers a combination of relaxation and focused work, using light to fairly firm pressure, varying speed and techniques. She includes trigger point work and techniques like Craniosacral Therapy and some Eastern modalities into her work. She especially loves focused neck and foot massage. Conny owns an in-home bakery, Sunrose Bakery, and you can purchase some of her gluten/egg/dairy free breakfast cookies at the spa!
Anna (she/her) became a massage therapist to help people's bodies feel better and help people feel better about their bodies. She has been licensed since 2016 (IA 082550) and is primarily a relaxation therapist, using slower, flowing massage techniques with light to moderately firm pressure. She's perfect for a meditative relaxation experience but not the best choice for someone looking for super aggressive work. She loves hot stone massage, our seasonal features, body scrubs, and providing a quiet session all about her guests. She's got a rescue dog, Edgar and has a *slight* addiction to baking to both the delight and detriment of her coworkers.
(Anna does not offer Targeted Sports Massage)
Jamee (she/her) came to massage after 17 years in dementia care and a desire to seek alternatives to conventional Western medical treatments. Licensed in 2015 (IA 077705) she is our Eastern massage specialist. She's taken a deep dive into studying techniques from Thailand and China like cupping, acupressure, and Shiatsu. Her focus is helping to remove mental, emotional, and physical blockages to facilitate the release of pain and discomfort. She offers a "custom Eastern massage" (call to book) in addition to being able to provide every massage we offer. She's not the best choice for someone looking for a light Swedish massage.
Hannah (she/her) found massage after it helped her recover from a car accident as a teenager and decided it was a way she could help others. She's been licensed since 2018 (IA 087014). She's a good choice for people looking for specific work for pain or injuries, using more moderate to firm pressure. She can also incorporate massage tools or assisted stretching as appropriate. She's passionate about finding the cause of pain. Hannah is very active in aerial arts so understands the needs of guests with active lifestyles. (Hannah does not offer prenatal massage or foot reflexology)
Trevor (he/him) has been licensed since January 2019 (IA 095153) and during school he developed a passion for Thai style massage. Clients love his positive energy and genuinely kind nature. He's a great fit for people looking to relax, with a diverse and evolving set of techniques from assisted gentle stretches, acupressure holds, flowing relaxation work and deep tissue techniques. He wrestled until a sternum malformation forced him to stop. He knows the frustration of being sidelined by an injury. Working at East Village Spa is the next best thing to his dream of doing Thai massage in an awesome tree house.
(Trevor does not do targeted therapy massage )
Jennifer (she/her) has been a licensed massage therapist since 2007 (IA 004855) and is a popular "fixer-upper" for people with pain, injuries, or recovering from surgeries or dealing with scars. She works with moderate to very firm pressure, incorporating massage tools as appropriate. She is a great fit for people with specific issues, though not the best fit for people looking for a light, general relaxation massage. Jennifer has a passion for helping cancer survivors and also understands the needs of active people as she's a hiking enthusiast and trekked 800 miles across Spain! She lives in a tiny house and is mom to a rescue pup.
(Jennifer does not do prenatal massage)
Paige (she/her) is a licensed massage therapist (IA 098942) who sees guests evenings and weekends. She left her nursing career when she realized the power of massage therapy in helping the patients in her care. She's a graduate of Body Wisdom massage therapy school and specializes in lymphatic drainage massage, geriatric, oncology, and prenatal massage. Paige is a great choice for people who have complex medical needs and can work with light to firm pressure. Paige is a mom, a dog person, and is proudly married to a military veteran so understands the challenges that military personnel and their families face. (Paige does not offer Targeted Therapy massage)
Camille (she/her) received her cosmetology and esthetics license in 2009 and 2010. She's known for super fast and professional Brazilian waxing and her facials are equal parts relaxing and results oriented. Camille has been on our team since 2012 and is our managing service provider and esthetics trainer. She is booked a ways out with her regulars, but loves seeing new facial and wax guests as she's able! She's not the best fit for anyone looking for a new regular nail care provider, but continues to see her long time clients for nail services or filling in as needed. She loves visiting with her guests about their upcoming trips as she's always dreaming of her next adventure. (Camille doesn't offer ear/nose waxing or French tip painting for nails.)
Cassandra (she/her) is a super experienced esthetician and nail technician who has been licensed since 2006 and on our team since 2013. She is an excellent choice for guests who have specific concerns with their skin, including acne or rosacea. She helps people achieve their skincare goals with advanced facials, peels, and hydrafacials along with the proper home care routine. Cassandra's nail care guests appreciate her safe and thorough services, like Shellac manicures. She works part time at Jett and Monkeys Dog Shoppe and has volunteered with animal rescues. She and her husband are parents to several rescued cats and dogs and she'd love to visit with you about your pets during services.
(Cassandra doesn't offer most body waxing.)
If you hear contagious laughter in the spa, it's Cyerra (she/her)! She's been a licensed esthetician and nail technician since 2015. Her facials are equal parts relaxing and results-oriented and she's our go-to for amazing artistic Shellac manicures. We even have a special service just for her nail art ! Check out examples of her work on our Instagram account and follow her at @allnails_by_cyerra on Instagram. She's a great fit for people nervous about their first Brazilian wax because she keeps them distracted through the service...just get her laughing. She's a mom to 4 awesome kids and a spoiled dog. She finds peace and happiness making other smile. (Cyerra does not offer body scrubs, back or chest waxing, leg or arm waxing.)
Desiree (she/her) has been a cosmetologist since 2014 and esthetician since 2019. She's focused on providing a super relaxing facial and nail experience as spas are her own go-to for helping manage stress. She's struggled with her own acne and stress related skin issues and knows her services can make a difference in her guests' quality of life. She grew up in Des Moines and is so proud to be a part of this community and watch it grow. She enjoys self care and energy workshops and tending her plants. (Desiree does not offer French tips or nail art)
Cammie (she/her) joined our team in 2014. She offers every type of nail care, waxing, and skincare service we offer at the spa and soon she'll be a licensed Massage therapist too! Cammie's facials are both relaxing and results oriented and she's known for very gentle nail care. As the mom of three children, she understands fluctuating hormones and learning to love your changing body, as well as stresses of parenting. Her experience as a gestational surrogate gives her a unique understanding of the painful and often silent struggles of creating a family. She feels blessed to help people take time out to care for themselves.
To adhere to social distancing guidelines and to prevent a COVID19 outbreak that could close our business again, we have divided our employees into two teams. This is a temporary fix, but it will mean that your favorite two providers no longer are able to work together. We're happy to suggest someone new to try if your regular provider doesn't work a schedule that fits into your lifestyle. All of our team members understand the limitations of our TEMPORARY schedule and added time between services and promise not to be offended if their regular guests see their trusted colleagues.
