Health and Safety Policies

We cannot provide services to anyone with a contagious illness or certain skin conditions. If you have household members with contagious illnesses like the flu or COVID-19, we strongly prefer you reschedule.  Please reschedule if you have any of the following:

• A cold (even at the tail end if you have symptoms)
• The flu
• Have had a fever within 48 hours
• A  "stomach bug"
• COVID-19 
• Poison ivy, poison oak, or a rash
• A cold sore (for facials) or other open skin sore on the area of treatment (i.e. waxing)

Our employees will do you the same courtesy and will not work with potentially contagious illnesses.

We strive to provide a welcoming space for guests and employees. We welcome feedback and encourage guests to share concerns with us in a constructive manner so we can ensure we can resolve them as efficiently as possible. In order to keep the long-term team of professional employees our guests depend on, we will not hesitate to refuse service or ban guests for conduct we deem to threaten the physical or mental wellness of others at the spa.

This includes but is not limited to:

• Yelling at our employees or calling them names
• Using hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language
• Harassment or solicitation
• Physical abuse
• Intoxication (we cannot provide services to guests under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and we do not serve or allow groups to bring alcohol to their appointments)

We have always been proud to appropriately sanitize spa tools, linens, and surfaces. This is what you can ALWAYS expect at East Village Spa:

• Linens are laundered between guests
• All surfaces are properly sanitized, including the use of hospital grade disinfectants for high touch surfaces and riskier surfaces like massage table face cradles, esthetics and nail tools, and hot stones. Our employees are trained on appropriate use of these products to ensure they are effective. We use hydrogen-peroxide based disinfectant wipes and barbicide.
• We have a housekeeper that does deeper cleaning of spa areas.
• Common areas like restrooms are cleaned frequently and appropriately.
• Nail tools are sanitized and individually bagged, . We use disposable nail tools for porous items and never re-use them.
• Our waxing is always done by gloved, licensed estheticians. They never double dip the sticks into the wax and follow all state laws and industry safety best practices.

We cannot see guests who are sick with any potentially contagious illness, with a rash or skin condition (including poison ivy or skin infection,) a fever for any reason, or with concerns that warrant medical attention should reschedule. This is for the provider safety, but also for YOUR safety! Some illnesses or skin conditions can be made worse with spa services. If you aren't sure if you are safe to receive a service, please call us to ask.

Some skincare services have specific contraindications that are noted in service descriptions, for example, use of some products, certain medications, current pregnancy, or sun exposure. Please read descriptions.

Our services providers are trained, educated, and licensed. We ask guests to complete initial health history forms before facials, massage therapy, and waxing. We also ask guests to update this information periodically. These forms help us to customize your service to best address your needs, but also look for contraindications including medications or products that could cause interactions or require a service modification.

Please contact us in advance if you are not sure if a health or skin issue you have may require you to postpone your visit with us. We appreciate treatment forms done electronically in advance of your visit, as this will allow your provider to identify any potential concerns and suggest an alternative treatment for you.
